Mothlight Presents:
METAMORPHOSIS
Between what was and what will be.
We are proud to present Metamorphosis 1.0, the inaugural issue of Mothlight Literary Magazine. Centered on the theme of metamorphosis, this collection brings together poetry, short fiction, and visual art that examine the nature of transformation in all its complexity.
Metamorphosis is often understood as a dramatic change, but the works in this issue reveal that transformation can be gradual, unexpected, cyclical, or even incomplete. Across these pages, contributors explore the moments that alter the course of a life: the shifting landscapes of memory, the formation and dissolution of relationships, the evolution of identity, and the ways individuals adapt to personal, social, and cultural change. Some pieces confront transformation as a process of loss and uncertainty, while others embrace it as a source of renewal, resilience, and possibility.
The issue also considers metamorphosis beyond the individual. Through imaginative storytelling, reflective essays, and evocative artwork, contributors examine changing communities, transforming environments, and the fluid boundaries between past and present, self and other, reality and imagination. Together, these works invite readers to reflect on change not as a singular event, but as an ongoing condition of existence.
As the first issue of Mothlight Literary Magazine, Metamorphosis 1.0 embodies the very theme it explores: the emergence of new voices, new perspectives, and a new creative space. We are delighted to share this collection and invite readers to engage with the many forms of transformation that shape our lives, our stories, and our art.
