A Few Words In Regards to Mothlight
When I founded Mothlight Literary, I wanted to create a space that felt alive — a place where words, images, and performance could coexist and speak to one another. Too often, literature and art are divided into genres or disciplines, but Mothlight was born from the belief that creativity thrives in the spaces between.
As its first editor-in-chief, I envisioned a magazine that would publish playwrights alongside poets, storytellers beside essayists and artists — a community of voices that shine with curiosity, courage, and vulnerability. In many ways, Mothlight is my way of expressing my love for literature — a lifelong devotion to the written word and its power to connect, transform, and endure.
Whether you’re a writer, artist, performer, or reader, we invite you to join us in celebrating the creative pulse that connects words, images, and performance.
"The idea of Mothlight came from the image of a moth drawn to a flame — fragile, luminous, and endlessly seeking."
To me, that is what literature does: it moves toward light, even when the world feels dim. Every poem, story, and play we publish is a small act of illumination, a gesture of hope that art can still reveal something true.
Mothlight belongs to those who believe in that pursuit — to the artists and readers who keep chasing the glimmer, even when it flickers. It is for those who find beauty in persistence, and who understand that creation itself is a form of light.
